Cards

Can I use my ATM/Debit card outside of the U.S.?
Yes, you can use your ATM/debit card outside of the US in most countries. It’s convenient for accessing cash at ATMs and making purchases at merchants that accept your card network, typically identified by Visa or Mastercard logos. Before traveling, it’s a good idea to inform your bank of your plans to ensure your card remains active and to inquire about any foreign transaction fees that may apply. Additionally, for security, consider setting travel notifications on your account to prevent any unexpected issues while abroad.

What is a CVV code?

The CVV (Card Verification Value) code, is a three-digit security code printed on credit and debit cards. It is typically located on the back of the card (for Visa, Mastercard, and Discover) or on the front (for American Express). This code adds an extra layer of security for online and phone transactions, ensuring that the person making the purchase physically possesses the card. Therefore, it’s important to keep this code confidential and not share it with anyone to protect against unauthorized use of your card information.
